How Did Recreational Boating Start?

In ancient days people gave more importance to the physical development as they felt it essential for their situation. This influenced even their recreational activities. The major occupation in those days were merely agriculture and fishing. The white collared jobs were not known to them.

People had lot of leisure time and they invented rather some new techniques to establish their physical strength. Thus someone seriously worked over the idea and found some games related to their daily activities. The sports had to be interesting and need many to participate. So the early man decided to use the sport for fixing marriages for the daughters and sons. The fishermen had their catamaran as a sport equipment.

Sea Eagle 330 -- The Go Anywhere Kayak For 2Fishing was the main occupation for the people living in the sea side.So they were all good at rowing the catamaran. This idea gave impetus to the boat race in those days itself. Not only for winning but also getting married was spun around the idea! The prize for winning the race was as we know by now, the marriage to the girl for whom the race was conducted.Young men though not first familiar with such organized sport showed little interest in the race.

But most probably a young man succeeded marring his love would have had influenced many to participate. This gave an entertainment to the on seers and made the participants to have a competing mood to win the beautiful(!) prize. When the days gone the catamaran has had changed to the day’s needs. The boats which were then came in the operation took the place of the catamarans. Thus the recreational boating started.
